Toni Ortner is a poet and author who lives in Brattleboro, Vermont. She is a member of the Write Action Board, a non-profit writers’ group that runs events such as readings, contests, and collaborative projects for Vermont writers. She hosts the Write Action Radio Hour on the fourth Sunday of each month on l07.7 FM 5-6 pm. where she interviews published writers and they read their work. She also showcases writing programs at colleges and has students read their work.

Toni has had 13 books published by fine small presses, 11 of which are poetry books. Feature reviews appeared in Small Press Review. Her poems can be seen in six anthologies. Traveling, a Perspective ( a book of poems with photographs by Janet Zimmer) will be published in 2013 by Unbound Content; Writing With Our Blood will be published in 2012 by Moon Publishing and Printing Inc. Toni will be reading at the 2013 Brattleboro Literary Festival.

Toni’s work has been published in over 100 literary magazines. Recent work appears in Soundings, Vermont Literary Review,, The Commons, and Mudfish. She edited the Write Action l0th Anniversary Anthology with Arlene Distler that contains the work of seventy-one poets from Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts.

In addition to her work as a poet and author, Toni enjoys teaching others the art of writing. She is an experienced university instructor who also leads writing courses and conferences.
